"rockingthe2" (unpredictable-swerve)

I finally got a "legit" account, not using my burner (unpredictable_swerve) although I do still browse on that account from my tablet. I've never done an AMA so I guess this is as good a time as any to do that as well. Wait, why am I still talking? Here's some pictures of my car!
Summit Point Raceway, WV.
Tail of the Dragon, TN
Bear Mountain, NY (One of the largest MR2 meets on the east coast)
Lynn Cove Viaduct, VA
I am also the one who got the free hyosung motorcycle, then traded it for S2k seats
The car wasn't always street parked though, for quite a while it slept indoors, even as a daily driver. I parked in the parking garage at work too, car was almost always clean, drove great, etc. I got quite a lot done when I was on night shifts in that garage
I actually really like tools:
some say it might be a problem
However I disagree.
So, about me. My real name is Seth, I am 24 and currently serving in the Navy. I move a LOT, so after I had my garage I ended up storing almost everything I own, and most of it will stay in storage until I move overseas in May, I already have plans for a "Ring trip in my MR2, and quite a lot of Spanish/French countryside driving. I actually love MR2's, they are my attainable dream cars. Currently I have the above one, Jenna, with 289whp, plans for upwards of 400 in the next 4 years, maybe some high 11's in the 1/4 if I can actually get some time to go drag racing. The first car I bought with my own cash?
Suprised? Yeah, me too.
I did try the offroad thing for a while:
Found out that I hate the 3.0l V6 in early toyota's (3VZ-FE). I do want another 4WD truck, but I want to try a diesel this time, maybe in a few years. I went through 4 4Runners in almost as many years with a combination of blown up or sold (or both). Taught me how to work on cars though, I will however refuse to work on anything with more than 20 vacuum lines. I also have tried my hand at computers and electronics (I am currently waiting on my laptop to backup to swap the hard drive to an SSD, and I've been tinkering with an arduino for a few weeks teaching myself basic programming). But I try to bring some sort of gearhead style to everything
Like doing a quick vinyl Martini livery on my tablet case.
I will admit (probably against the popular stance here) that I am a fan of tucked engine bays and low cars (to a point, once you start losing functionality.... its more of a case by case basis). I do play on tucking my engine bay soon, its too busy
I also want to get a few things powdercoated. Like the polished hard pipes.
However, all of this will be waiting a bit, because in a few days (maybe 2 weeks at most) I will be a dad, so we shall see how that goes. The MR2 isn't going anywhere, as we are getting something else for my wife overseas, and she has a car here for now.
So, go ahead, ask me anything, I'll answer most questions.

Do you love your MR2?? Seems like a great car. I'm really quite fond of them. I wish I went to that Bear Mountain meet, I live so close to there.

Yeah, the bear mountain meet was probably the most fun car meet I've done. MR2's are extremely fun, can be had for cheap, and as long as you know what you are doing, are quite predictable. You can spend quite a lot on them though, I think I just passed the 15k mark with the seats.

Interesting. MR2 is for sure on a list of next cars...

My best recommendation is to pay a little extra for a nicer one, but being close to bear mountain just buy one from PR1ME in NJ, the gen4 cars they have are worth it.

Justin, their main guy, and the one who does all the forums and calls, is one of the nicest down to earth people there are, if you have a problem, he takes care of it. I swear he spends more time helping people for free than he does for money, the guy answered an email on Easter Sunday for a random question I had. You want a reliable MR2 that won't give you problems? Call them and buy one, they wont screw you over.

In Japan here... I have to admit a post-1994 turbo SW20 is very tempting. 245hp and can be bought for as low a 4000$ here... That's roughly the same performances I had with the Corvette (minus the torque of course), for a fraction of the price...
On the other hand, a 100hp Cappuccino is more than tempting too :)

Cappuccino, 10/10 would hoon.
The gen4 we get over here is a Toyota Caldina motor from Japan, pretty much 300whp and 25mpg in a daily driver reliable package.
